  Important Information for Owners:

WATER CANCELLATIONSeveral recent inquiries suggest that it would be helpful for AWC to reiterate its "cancellation" policy.  When the occasion arises that you find it necessary to cancel a already-scheduled irrigation delivery, please understand that AWC's policy is to charge you for that delivery.  The rationale is that a) it essentially costs the company the same or more to effect the cancellation since the subject water volume has already been pumped and is in the scheduled flow, b) thus we are left with a volume of water that is "excess" and we must find a place to effectively use it, and c) not to mention the domino-effect caused to downstream water users and irrigators. Unfortunately, the water cannot be saved once it is in the system.

To effect a no-charge "cancellation," AWC must be notified by noon on the Wednesday prior to your upcoming delivery, either via phone, e-mail, or by so indicating on your local sign-up sheet (prior to it's collection).

If you have any questions about self-irrigation (OWI), standing orders, or any other water tendering services, please telephone the office and discuss with Pat or Delores.

WATER "PROBLEM" -  NOTE:  If you have any type of water problem or "emergency" situation a) after normal business hours and/or b) during the hours when irrigation is actually taking place please telephone the office and your call will be answered or forwarded to the water tenderer on-duty.  There is a water tenderer on-duty 24 hours a day whenever water is flowing.

·        OVERSEEDING - While overseeding is behind us for Winter '07-'08, please be sure to coordinate any other household maintenance activities with your irrigation delivery.  If you need to cancel your water, please notify us before it is scheduled.  Once it is scheduled, you will be charged for it.

·        CITRUS PICKING PROGRAM - Citrus picking commenced in early December. If you would still like to get on our list for the commercial  picking, please call or e-mail us at awcwater@qwest.net with your name, address, customer acct #,  the number of each kind of tree that you want picked, and any special instructions.  The picking continues through April. Due to market conditions, there may be  a charge for either oranges and/or grapefruit. PLEASE check with your picker to ensure agreement and to prevent misunderstandings.   Note: The neighborhoods will be picked geographically. The commercial picker, Mike Summers, will work out where he begins. The date of putting your name on the list may have no correlation with the order or date when you are actually picked.

·        CITRUS REBATE – Arcadia Water Company is continuing to offer a rebate for the purchase and planting of citrus trees in the Arcadia Water District.  To take advantage of this program, just send us the receipt with your account number and we will credit your account for up to $ 200.00.

·        ROOF RATS – As the fruit begins to ripen, roof rats begin to come out of their hiding places.  There are several sources to turn to for help.  If you see evidence of roof rats, you can call:  Maricopa County Vector Control at 602-506-6616.  Also, Barry Pacely sells traps.  His number is 602-273-0435.  He has a website (roofrat.net) that has a lot of information on roof rats and how to control them.
